The Alaska Department of Transportation announced in late October that the ferry M/V LeConte would be removed from the winter ferry schedule due to necessary maintenance. HEDC submitted a letter to AMHS officials, suggesting potential options and ideas for maintaining winter ferry service to Haines at the level previously scheduled.
